Chess is a classic game of strategy, played on a board with 64 squares arranged in an 8×8 grid. Each player begins with 16 pieces: a king, a queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. The objective is to move all of your pieces into the opponent's "home" area, which is the area bounded by the opponent's starting square.

The gameplay is simple. You move your pieces, attacking the opponent's pieces. If you capture the opponent's pieces, you gain their "king" rank, and if you capture all of the opponent's pieces, you win the match. If you manage to do so before the opponent does, you can "checkmate" and win the game.

The game can be played in a number of different ways. You can play against the computer, but you can also play with friends or with other people online. You can also set up matches and play them in a tournament.
